Buffaloes Believed Electrocuted

I had anticipated that such accident is waiting to occur anytime and anywhere in my posting "1st World Aspirant, 3rd World Mentality - Edition 1" on 11/7/2006. Luckily this time, it was just buffaloes but if the relevant authorities (TNB, local councils & etc) continue to rest on their laurels, it will be the loss of human lives the next time.




The Star of 12/9/2006 reported that 3 buffaloes were believed electrocuted when the animals were left by the owner to graze near a lamppost at an industrial park in Ipoh. Exposed wires of the lamppost due to vandalism (cover stolen for scrap arising from shortages of steel) which could be mistaken as grass by the buffaloes is believed to be the cause for the accident.

This problem seems to be apparent throughout the country without concerted efforts from all relevant parties to rectify it. Before another untoward incident occurs, let them be reminded that you do not have to wait till a man dies for action to be taken.
