Tour to China's Jiangnan - Shanghai (part 3)

At the Shanghai's Jade Buddha Temple, we were introduced to the well known white jade statue of Sakyamuni which was brought all the way from Maynmar in 1982 by the monk, Huigen. This temple was built in 1918.

The Mausoleum of Song Qingling covers an area of 12 hectares of which the tomb of Song Qingling lies. Former leader, Deng Xiaoping personally wrote an inscription for the Song Qingling Monument and the Song Qingling biographical deeds pavilion.

We were also brought to the famous Nanjing Road which is Shanghai's shopping street. This is what we meant by 'crowded'! We were told Nanjing Road attracts crowd as many as 3 million per day. Posted by Picasa
