Tour to China's Jiangnan - Hangzhou (part 2)

In Hangzhou, we also visited the Longjin Mei Village where we got to experience the production of and taste the famous Longjin tea.

Leifeng Pagoda was first built in 975-an but was damaged by lightning at a time unknown. It was subsequently rebuilt into an octagonal 5 storey pavilion in the early Southern Song. It is famous for the Legend of Lady White Snake and is a good site to overlook the West Lake. Getting to the pagoda is a piece of cake as it is probably the only one known to be served by escalator. Posted by Picasa

Hi! Was at some of the places you visited 2 years back around this time too! :) But took a slightly different route (Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, etc ). I think I like hangzhou the best, particularly the lake. We managed to be there in time for the sunset.
Did you managed to eat the Shanghai dumplings? :P

Hi Alex. Good to be back after a long break due to work commitments. Haven't got time yet to update the remaining tour at Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi. Hope to complete them by the weekend. Yes, we tried the shanghai dumpling and 'smelly toufu'. To me, the dumplings there are just too oily and salty. The toufu is nice but a bit saltier. Enjoyable trip on the overall
